tumblrの使い方に、実はあんまりルールはありません。一応ジャンル的にはミニブログの部類に入るサービスなのですが、僕含め圧倒的に多く使われている用途が、「スクラップ帳」。昔、新聞とか雑誌の切り抜きをファイリングしている人がいましたが、あんな感じです。tumblrはそれをウェブで簡単に行えるツールなわけです。

で、tumblrを使うと何が良いのか。

ひとつは、「ネットで面白かったもの」を1箇所に全部まとめてアーカイブできること。
従来のネットサーフィン（古いか？）では、せっかく面白いサイトや画像や動画に出会っても、1度見たらそれっきり。それだとただの消費で終わってしまいます。tumblrは「自分がティンときたモノまとめページ」的な役割を果たすので、あとから読み返すと自分の趣味嗜好を再確認できるネタ帳が勝手に出来上がっているというわけです。
